Dennis was been awarded the 2006 BBC Radio 3 Jazz Award in the Jazz Line Up 'Best Band' category. Dennis has also been awarded the 'best trombone' prize by The British Jazz Awards 2006 & 2007 as well 'Best Trombone' by the inaugural Ronnie Scott's Jazz Awards 2007.

Dennis is an acclaimed musician, composer and educator, well-known on the British and international jazz scene, and celebrated for his versatility and unique approach to the underrated trombone. Born in Birmingham, UK in 1964 of Jamaican parents, Dennis cut his teeth at the age of 14 studying and performing with The Doncaster Youth Jazz Association. After years of concentrated study Dennis relocated to London and began playing with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) and the legendary band The Jazz Warriors. Over the years Dennis has established a reputation as an artist of excellence and has lent his talents to some of this country's and, indeed, the world's top jazz and pop personalities such as Courtney Pine, Baba Maal, Jamiroquai, US3, Brand New Heavies, Blur and has toured extensively with The Maceo Parker Band.
